RTIR PRIZE GIVING 2026
Celebrating the winners of the 2026 race
The Round the Island Race Prizegiving was the perfect finale to one of the world’s most iconic yacht races, bringing together competitors, families, friends, sponsors and supporters to celebrate an extraordinary day on the water. Set in the vibrant Race Village on Cowes Parade, with spectacular panoramic views across the Solent, the atmosphere was one of excitement, pride and camaraderie. As crews reflect on their achievements and share stories from around their journey round the Island, the event captures the unique spirit that has made the race a highlight of the sailing calendar for generations organised by The Island Sailing Club.
With more than 70 prizes presented, the Prizegiving recognises outstanding performances across the fleet, ensuring there are celebrations for yachtsmen of every level, from first-time competitors to seasoned champions. Cheers erupt as winners take to the stage, while applause echoes around the Race Village, creating a memorable occasion for everyone in attendance. Surrounded by the buzz of fellow competitors, live entertainment, food and drink, and the stunning backdrop of the Solent, the Prizegiving is far more than an awards ceremony—it is a fitting celebration of the achievement, determination and community that define the Round the Island Race.
“The Round the Island Race Prizegiving was a fantastic celebration of the achievements and spirit of everyone who took part. With over 70 prizes presented and the Race Village overlooking the Solent, the atmosphere is always unforgettable and the perfect conclusion to an incredible day’s racing.”
